The Joe Rogan Experience is the podcast of Joe Rogan, the comedian, TV host and UFC color commentator. He launched it on YouTube on December 24, 2009 with comedian Brian Redban, who was the only co-host and producer until 2012. Jamie Vernon was hired that year and later took over production.
By 2015 it was one of the most popular podcasts in the world. From December 2020 to February 2024 it was exclusive to Spotify, and production moved to Austin, Texas. Since 2024 it has been back on YouTube and other platforms. The episode count passed 2,550 in September 2026.
Episodes run from one hour to more than five. Next to the main episodes, which feature guests from every field, the podcast has three series: the JRE MMA Show, built around fighters and coaches; Fight Companion, streamed live during fight nights; and Protect Our Parks.
Combat sports guests over the years include Daniel Cormier, Max Holloway, Demetrious Johnson, Jon Jones, Jake Shields, Ilia Topuria, BJ Penn, Dustin Poirier and boxer Mike Tyson. Episodes are on Spotify and in video on the PowerfulJRE YouTube channel.
Rogan has called UFC fights for years and knows the fighters well. The long format leaves room to talk about training camps, careers, injuries and life after fighting, far beyond a post-fight interview.
Fight Companion episodes capture the feel of watching a card with friends, and the JRE MMA Show label lets you filter the MMA episodes out of a huge catalog. He often steers the conversation toward technique, training methods and the mental side of competing.
The podcast is for fans who have time for long conversations. Many episodes have nothing to do with MMA, so go straight to the dedicated series.
Start with the JRE MMA Show, then look up the episodes with a fighter you follow, such as Ilia Topuria or Dustin Poirier. On a UFC fight night, try a Fight Companion episode to hear Rogan and his guests react live. Both series are labeled on YouTube and Spotify, so they are easy to find in the feed.
