The story of KSW
Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki, Polish for "martial arts confrontation", was created by Martin Lewandowski and Maciej Kawulski, who met in Warsaw in 2002. The first event, KSW I, was held on February 27, 2004 at the Marriott hotel in Warsaw as a tournament. KSW is now the leading MMA promotion in Poland and one of the biggest in Europe.
KSW runs fewer events than the UFC, built around stacked cards and heavy production. In May 2017, KSW 39 Colosseum drew 57,776 fans to the National Stadium in Warsaw, the European attendance record for an MMA event. Since 2023, the broker XTB has been the title sponsor of most events, and the promotion also tours the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Croatia and France.
France has hosted three KSW events: KSW 93 at the Adidas Arena in Paris in April 2024, KSW 101 "Le Classique" at Paris La D茅fense Arena in December 2024 and KSW 106 at the LDLC Arena in Lyon in May 2025. Salahdine Parnasse won the main event of all three. He joined KSW in 2017, held the featherweight and lightweight titles, and left the promotion in 2026 to sign with the UFC, where he beat Dan Hooker at UFC Paris.
Several French fighters appear in the official September 2026 rankings: La茂d Zerhouni at middleweight, Adam Masaev at welterweight, Davy Gallon and Hugo Deux at lightweight, and Souheil Kaouchen at featherweight. KSW has also been a pathway to the UFC for Jan B艂achowicz, Mateusz Gamrot, Dricus du Plessis, Ariane Lipski and, in 2025, Jakub Wik艂acz and Robert Rucha艂a.
