Overview
Dan Hardy was born on May 17, 1982, in Nottingham, England. Known as "The Outlaw," he started taekwondo at 5 and earned a black belt. He later added karate, judo, Muay Thai, and boxing, and he holds a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He studied art and design at Nottingham Trent University.
Fighting at welterweight from 2004 to 2012, he went 25-10. He beat Akihiro Gono in his UFC debut at UFC 89 in 2008. In 2010 he became the first Englishman to fight for a UFC title, losing a decision to Georges St-Pierre at UFC 111. He also faced Carlos Condit, Anthony Johnson, and Chris Lytle, and after a four-fight losing streak he beat Duane Ludwig in 2012.
