The story of Hexagone MMA

Hexagone MMA was founded in Toulouse by brothers Jérôme and Laurent Pourrut, right after MMA was legalized in France. The first event took place on July 9, 2021 at Paris La Défense Arena, with a middleweight title won by Gaël Grimaud. The promotion calls itself "the league of rising stars": it builds young French fighters against international opposition.

The promotion tours all of France, with 21 French cities visited so far, and has held events in Dubai, Oberhausen, Alkmaar, The Hague, Kortrijk, Gyor and Székesfehérvár. It has also picked unusual venues: the Roman Theatre of Orange, four times, and the bullring of Béziers. On June 12, 2026, HX 45 drew more than 12,000 fans to the LDLC Arena in Lyon.

Winamax has been the title partner since January 2025. Events air on RMC Sport in France and in more than 150 countries through DAZN, TNT Sports and other broadcasters. In 2025 and 2026, the promotion ran two single-elimination tournaments worth 100,000 euros, at lightweight and middleweight.

Two Hexagone MMA champions signed with the UFC in July 2026: middleweight champion Matthieu Letho Duclos and former flyweight champion Michael Aljarouj. In May 2026, Hexagone MMA and ARES came under the same ownership while remaining separate promotions.
