All 14 fights on the UFC Vegas 124 card were confirmed Friday at the official weigh-ins inside the UFC APEX in Enterprise, Nevada, just outside Las Vegas, and no fighter missed weight. Waldo Cortes-Acosta weighed in at 262 pounds (118.8 kg) against Johnny Walker’s 239 pounds (108.4 kg) for the heavyweight main event. In the co-main event, Tatiana Suarez came in at 115.5 pounds (52.4 kg) and Virna Jandiroba at 116 pounds (52.6 kg), both within the strawweight limit. The full card and start times are collected on our UFC tonight page.
Cortes-Acosta Gets His First Main Event
Tonight’s heavyweight headliner was not the original plan. It replaces the welterweight main event between Gabriel Bonfim and Sean Brady, scrapped after Brady withdrew with a staph infection, a story MMA Official already covered. For Cortes-Acosta (17-4), it is his first main event in the UFC. He is coming off back-to-back decision losses to Alexander Volkov and Curtis Blaydes, after a three-fight knockout streak that included a win over Derrick Lewis. He fought less than two months ago at Noche UFC 4, a quick turnaround by heavyweight standards. Nicknamed Salsa Boy after introducing teammates to a homemade hot sauce, he trains out of the Ultimate Kombat Training Center in Arizona. Walker (23-10, 1 NC), a Brazilian member of Xtreme Couture, is making his fifth UFC main event appearance. He knocked out Mick Parkin with a knee in his heavyweight debut and returns just 35 days later, an unusually quick turnaround for the division.
Suarez Puts Her Ranking on the Line
The co-main event pits two top-three strawweights against each other. Suarez, ranked No. 3, lost to Zhang Weili before stringing together wins over Loopy Godinez and Amanda Lemos. Jandiroba, the Brazilian ranked No. 2, is coming off a loss to Mackenzie Dern for the vacant title and a win over Tabatha Ricci in April. A clear win for either woman could put her next in line for a title shot, with the champion Zhang Weili looming over both of their records. The full strawweight picture is on our UFC rankings page.
The Rest of the Card
At featherweight, Austin Bashi meets Carlos Calderon, who stepped in earlier this week after Lucas Brennan withdrew with a torn ACL. At heavyweight, Gabriel Lourenco faces Thomas Petersen, in for Alvin Hines, who pulled out with vertigo. The weigh-ins also confirmed Davey Grant against Elijah Smith at bantamweight, Billy Elekana against Lucas Fernando at light heavyweight, Priscila Cachoeira against Nina Milosevic at bantamweight, and Seok Hyeon Ko against Wellington Turman along with Jonny Parsons against Jose Henrique Souza at welterweight. The prelims round out with Keiichiro Nakamura against Oliver Schmid, Jose Mauro Delano against Murtazali Magomedov at featherweight, and Karine Silva against Gabriella Fernandes along with Mitch Raposo against Marcos Degli at flyweight. No late changes were reported after the weigh-ins.
A Heavyweight Repositioning Chance
The heavyweight division’s ranked contenders are thin, and a win tonight can quickly reposition a fighter. Cortes-Acosta is looking to snap a two-fight skid after once being billed as a rising contender. Walker wants to validate his jump up in weight just two fights into the new division. Either man will keep an eye on the rest of the division’s 2026 calendar, which still has several ranked matchups left before the year is out.
How to Watch
Prelims start at 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT (4 p.m. CT / 3 p.m. MT), with the main card at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT (7 p.m. CT / 6 p.m. MT). In the UK, prelims air at 10 p.m. and the main card at 1 a.m. Sunday. The full card streams on Paramount+, starting at 8.99 dollars a month. Tonight’s card follows UFC Vegas 123 and UFC 333 to close out a busy stretch for the promotion before it shifts to Madison Square Garden for UFC 334 on November 14. The rest of the promotion’s late-season schedule is on our UFC schedule 2026 page, and full results will post tonight on our UFC results page.
